Click goes the camera… and his lens rolls out yet another aesthetic picture…

An IT geek by profession but a photographer by passion, Akhil’s unique style and finesse has lent a new curve to fashion photography in Eastern India. Hailing from a family of artists, Akhil inherited an eye for beauty from his grandmother, Lt. Chandrakala Devi, a national award winner for Madhubani paintings, and his cousin brother Sharad Kumar, who received the prestigious award for Paper Mache sculpture from former president Dr A. P. J Abdul Kalam.

Akhil’s journey with photography started with his childhood friend Kodak KB10. In 2013, his stint in clicking for magazines & tabloid started when he joined Mycitylinks.in (the first English tabloid of Odisha) as a freelance photojournalist. It had helped him to explore and understand varied aspects of people photography & human interest stories. And before he realized he had created a benchmark for himself in the temple city, Bhubaneswar.

His clicks have been featured in National & International platforms like The Telegraph, Forbes India, Times Of India, The Hindu, The Naptune Glitz, IVF India and many more. As a fashion photographer, apart from covering different fashion shows throughout the country, he has been doing different portfolios (Male, Female and Kids) for aspiring models, actors and professionals.

Akhil’s quintessential style reflects his eye for quaint beauty gathered from the places he travelled, people he met and the cultures he lived. He has been the official photographer for different NIFTs across the country and FBB Femina Miss Odisha India 2015. The maverick grabbed the attention of internationally acclaimed fashion designer Pritam Panda and Odissi dancer Saswat Joshi with his clicks. His fingers have clicked the style canvas of fashion stores such as Raas, Posh Affairs, Flounge, NavyaNavelli, IconicIndia and lifestyle stores such as Khimji Jewellers, Chandi Bhandar, Ecoloom, Nimantran Silver Emporium, Suman Fashions, Wood Art, etc.

The 31-year-old added yet another feather to his cap with appreciations flowing in from celebrity photographers Dabboo Ratnani and Sudhir Shivram.

And, if this was not enough to certify his exquisite magic, the young lad has also clicked Bollywood personalities like Govinda, Emraan Hashmi, Soha Ali Khan, Nandita Das, Elli Avram, Adah Sharma, Saiyami Kher, Taapsee Pannu, Emraan Hashmi, Benny Dayal, KK, Bhuvan Bam, Aarav Singh, Rex D Souza, and Aditi Singh Sharma apart from other influential Indians including Dutee Chand (for PETA), Chetan Bhagat, Dr Kanwal Vilku, N. R. Narayana Murthy, Naveen Patnaik and Sri Sri Ravishankara.

Akhil took yet another leap to explore wedding photography and travelled across India, capturing candid memories with his team. He ensures every picture narrates a story. As a fashion photographer, he feels the colorful and vibrant Indian weddings are grand fashion events, where one can find models of different age groups in their best attire and mood.

He also shapes the artistic instincts of budding photographers at Institute Of Digital Media Technology & Conducts workshops at JD Institute Of Fashion Technology by mentoring them & taking them along the stepping stones

Akhil’s approach towards every project with the same fervour and excitement of his inception years is credible. Akhil along with his team is working towards winning hearts across the globe with his creative photography services.
